Self Tape

Often, talent is away when a big casting comes in. Sometimes, the client only wants to see self tape. This class will set the standard for self taping and help you look like a total professional! CORE REQUIREMENT FOR ANYONE WISHING TO AUDITION FOR COMMERCIALS OR HIGHER.

Commercial Auditioning I

Apply the 16 things you learned with the casting secrets. Practice learning how to enter an audition, where and how to stand, and focus, and learn 2 of the 6 ways you could be asked to audition for commercials. Core classes are required before you can attend this class.


Commercial Auditioning II

Apply the 16 things you learned with the casting secrets. Practice learning how to enter an audition, where and how to stand, and focus, and learn the most common of the 6 ways you could be asked to audition for commercials. Core classes & Commercial Auditioning I are required before you can attend this class.


Commercial Auditioning III

Apply the 16 things you learned with the casting secrets. Practice learning how to enter an audition, where and how to stand, and focus, and learn how to audition with a partner for commercial. Core classes & Commercial Auditioning I & II are required before you can attend this class.


Connection & Humanization

Learn how to strengthen and keep your connection with the camera and/or another person by adding in the little things that make us human.

Improv is not just for the comedians and not just about comedy. It's about staying in character, channeling the right things to come to mind the moment you need them and so much more. Keep your acting tools sharp with this class. This is a REQUIRED class for all levels and as often as possible.

Learn several different ways to strengthen your memorization skills. Not required but if you struggle memorizing it's a really good idea

Character Analysis

Discover what a characters arc is and how to find it or build one for yourself. Gain a better understanding of its importance. Before class WATCH: E.T. THE EXTRA TERRESTRIAL.

Character Development

Come build a character from the ground up. Learn how to build a character based on very little information and how the art of detail can secure your next audition leads to a call back and booking!


Connection & Humanization II

Continue to strengthen your connection with the camera and/or another person by adding in the little things that make us human.


Film Analysis

We will be looking at the extra features from some of your favorite films and analyzing how a film comes together and how you can enhance your own performance by understanding the art of film making. Before class WATCH: JAWS.


Improv II

Improv is not just for the comedians and not just about comedy. It's about staying in character, channeling the right things to come to mind the moment you need them and so much more. Keep your acting tools sharp with this class. This is a REQUIRED class for all levels and as often as possible.


Story Structure

Learn the story structure that exists in ALL stories, how to find the structure and what that means to you as the actor. Before class WATCH: STAR WARS NEW HOPE.


TV Auditioning

Apply the 16 things you learned with the casting secrets. Practice learning how to enter an audition, where and how to stand, and focus, and learn how to dress the part and audition for television shows. Core classes & all Commercial Auditioning are required before you can attend this class. PLEASE LOCATE AND MEMORIZE A 30 SECOND COMMERCIAL (Go to google search and type in "commercial scripts")


LEVEL III ACTING CLASS DESCRIPTIONS


Character Analysis II

Film Analysis II

We will continue to look at the extra features from some of your favorite films and analyzing how a film comes together and how you can enhance your own performance by understanding the art of film making. Must complete core and level 1 & 2 courses. MUST READ RAISING ARIZONA


Film Auditioning

Apply the 16 things you learned with the casting secrets. Perfect the audition entrance, the stance, your focus. You are steps away from the big league! Must complete core and level 1 & 2 courses. Please locate and memorize a 1 page script from a movie with a character you can play (your age, castability, etc.)


Improv III

Improv is not just for the comedians and not just about comedy. It's about staying in character, channeling the right things to come to mind the moment you need them and so much more. Keep your acting tools sharp with this class. This is a REQUIRED class for all levels and as often as possible.


Reel Readiness

This class is a 3 hour block and must be taken three consecutive weeks to take the Master Class. The Master Class will be offered on a Saturday, will be a 6 hour on location shoot where we film what you've worked on in this class. Must complete core and level 1 & 2 courses. Invite only.


Script Analysis II

Continue to explore the art of story structure. Must complete core and level 1 & 2 courses. MUST READ: THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL.


Social Media

Learn how to effectively use your social media outlets; Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vine, etc, to enhance your online appearance helping you to be seen by industry professionals.


SINGING CLASS DESCRIPTIONS


Auditioning

For kids, teens, and adults level 2+. *Come with 16-32 bars of a karaoke track of your choice for mock auditions. Come learn auditioning techniques for theater, anthems, and other industry auditions.


Branding

For kids, teens, and adults level 2+. *Come dressed how you'd like to come across as an artist. Learn how to further develop your image and brand yourself as an artist.


Build My Set List

For kids, teens, and adults level 2+. *Come with your all set-lists pertaining to your chosen genre/s. Determine best genres for your voice and develop your set lists to enhance your ability to book as an artist.


Microphone Etiquette

For kids, teens, and adults level 2+. Understand how to use, hold, and project through, the singer's best friend, the microphone. Practice adjusting and using a microphone stand in a performance. Learn about different types of microphones and what will best suit you in various performance situations.


Music Is Your Business

For kids, teens, and adults level 2+. *Bring laptops or tablets if you have them. Learn social media techniques for acquiring fans and how to make an income as a local artist.


On With The Show

For kids, teens, and adults at level 3. *Bring song binder/s with all set-lists pertaining to your genre/s. Dress for your genre/s as well. Learn how to put on a show. How to structure your show according to your set-list and image. Develop staging and performance techniques.

Performance 1, 2, and 3

Learn performance do's and don'ts. How to reach and engage your audiences. How to move comfortably on stage and effectively tell the story of the song/s you are performing. Move up to a level 3 to be invited to more intensive courses and performance opportunities within the STS Conservatory. CORE REQUIREMENT.


Recording

For kids, teens, and adults level 2+. Learn and practice the ins and outs of recording in the studio.


Song Critique

For kids, teens, and adults level 2+. *Come with a song ready to perform. Sing your song of your choice for feedback and coaching on that song. There will be five spots available for sign-up per class, per week. Only one class available per month to each student, unless given permission.


Vocal Technique

Covers necessary basics associated with healthy singing. You will learn proper breathing, posture, vocal skills, and much more. your goal is to progress to a level 3 in the singing program. You will be placed in the class level that best suits your current abilities according to your STS Conservatory manager. CORE REQUIREMENT.


VOICE-OVER CLASS DESCRIPTIONS


Intro to Animation and Audiobooks

Prerequisites: VO Basics, Intro to Commercial and Narration VO Learn how to develop your own unique catalog of character voices and what the industry is looking for. We'll also discuss technique on how to effectively deliver long-form narration.


Intro to Commercial and Narration VO

Prerequisite: VO Basics Learn how to deliver commercial and Narration voice-over scripts while remaining uniquely YOU. Practice how to deliver a conversational read and improve your cold-reading skills. We'll briefly discuss other types of voice-over. (IVR, documentary, e-learning, etc.)


VO Networking and Marketing

Prerequisites: VO Basics, Intro to Commercial and Narration VO Learn how to find work in voice-over, the importance of finding your niche, and the kind of continuing education you will need to have a successful voice-over career.


VO Basics: Vocal Care & Breathing Technique

Learn the basics of voice-over, the importance of a proper warm-up, how to breathe through your script, and how to take care of your voice. We'll discuss types of voice-over and trends of the industry as well as what you'll need to be a successful voice actor.


MODELING PROGRAM


Week 1: Learn How To Audition

Learn about the modeling industry and which divisions are the best fit for you Learn how to prepare for 8 different types of castings including runway, commercial modeling, spokes person modeling, print, promo/conventional work, fitness casting, and Improv/interview style. Learn how to submit yourself to top agencies nationally or internationally. Gain the tools necessary to be a successful model.


Week 2: Mini Make-Over

As a model, YOU are your product. Learn how to brand yourself. Work with personal trainers, hair stylist, skin & make- up artists, etc. Please bring your makeup Bag and Brushes.


Week 3: Celebrity Shopping Spree/Styling

Learn top industry tips from Celebrity Guests who will teach you versatile ways to change your look, and apply your own makeup for castings and photoshoots. Go shopping for makeup with a professional Stars coach to assist you in finding your best colors and brands for your skin, hair, and eye color. Go clothing shopping at a thrift store with a professional Stars coach to help you master your best styles and ways to flatter your body.


Week 4: Print Work

Learn how to do print work by mastering STARS Signature “600 Poses Within 60 Minutes” Technique and photo movement. Learn how to work with photographers shooting for fashion campaigns, catalogs, magazines, billboards and web videos.


Week 5: Photo Shoot

This class will be on location in SLC. Professional photographer(s) will shoot you in multiple mock model campaigns. The photo shoots will test your expertise in hair, makeup, style, and photo movement ability. Photos can be purchased for $25 each from the individual photographers so that you can build your portfolio & for the Stars website.


Week 6: Runway/Fashion Show

Learn Stars official 15 top runway turns. Learn fashion show etiquette and be in a mock fashion show! Improve poise, posture, and walk. Bring slick sole shoes or heels.


Week 7: Spokesmodel Workshop

Many clients are looking to book an attractive person on behalf of a company or product to be their spokesperson. Learn how to use a teleprompter and be developed even as a TV Host!


Week 8: Create Demo Reels

Film your demo reels today! Film your runway if you’re a runway model, or hosting reel. Practice being in a spokesmodel campaign, TV show interview, endorsements, emceeing, and interviewing for press/media. Learn how to read naturally from a teleprompter. Develop delivering scripted dialogue in a believable way.
